Hebrides Mountain Rescue

Welcome to the website for Hebrides Mountain Rescue (Formerly know as HebSAR).

Hebrides Mountain Rescue are a voluntary organisation who are a member of the Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland.Hebrides Mountain Rescue are tasked by the Police, and perform a variety of roles, including mountain rescue, search and rescue, and community resilience. Hebrides Mountain Rescuework closely with other emergency services agencies, such as the Police, Coastguard, NHS, etc.

Hebrides Mountain Rescue are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and rely on donations to keep going. This website provides information about who we are, what we do, and how to get involved.

As a team, our objectives are:

  • To save lives in the Outer Hebrides.
  • To assist the wider community during emergencies.
  • To promote Mountain Safety.
  • To establish a culture of excellence in training.
  • To be proactive in embracing new technology.
